Compassionate, highly accessible private GP care with a focus on preventive health, healthy ageing and thoughtful, personalised medicine.
Private GP appointments primarily in Wokingham, with remote consultations available for patients in Oxford and face-to-face Oxford appointments at selected times.
I am a compassionate and highly accessible General Practitioner with over 13 years’ medical experience, complemented by a strong background in secondary care.
My practice is centred on preventive health and healthy ageing, with a considered and highly personalised approach to each patient’s care. I work closely with leading specialists where appropriate, helping to ensure care is thoughtfully coordinated and seamless.
Alongside face-to-face appointments, I offer remote consultations on most evenings, providing additional flexibility for those with demanding professional and personal commitments.
Above all, I aim to provide attentive, responsive and thoughtful medical care, tailored to the individual circumstances of each patient.
My clinical journey includes valuable experience as a Clinical Fellow in Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Medicine at University College London Hospitals (UCLH), followed by postgraduate Core Medical Training in Cambridge, where I had the privilege of training at Addenbrooke’s and Papworth Hospitals. This diverse experience ignited my deep interest in cardiology and respiratory medicine.
Building on this strong foundation, I completed comprehensive General Practice training in the Reading and Newbury areas, which further enriched my clinical expertise and broadened my ability to manage a diverse range of medical conditions. My practice is built on the principles of evidence-based medicine, and I believe in taking the time to listen to patients, addressing both their immediate concerns and long-term health needs with empathy and professionalism.
Outside medicine, I am a keen tennis player and cyclist and have a longstanding interest in the arts. Classical music and opera are particular pleasures, and I greatly enjoy attending performances whenever time permits. Together, these pursuits provide a welcome balance to the demands of professional life.
Lifestyle medicine looks at everyday factors that can support long-term health. For example:
A particular interest in preventive medicine, healthy ageing and long-term health, with an evidence-based approach to preserving wellbeing, reducing future risk and helping patients remain well throughout the different stages of life.
A particular interest in cardiovascular and respiratory health, including the careful evaluation of cardiac and respiratory symptoms, cardiovascular risk and prevention, and the treatment of common heart and respiratory conditions encountered in general practice.
A broad interest in ear, nose and throat medicine, including the assessment and treatment of common ENT conditions, with further investigation or specialist opinion arranged when appropriate.
A particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions commonly encountered in general practice, with specialist opinion sought where this would be of benefit.
Experienced in the prompt assessment of new and acute medical concerns, with an emphasis on sound clinical judgement, timely investigation and the early involvement of specialist colleagues where circumstances require.
Whilst I have particular areas of clinical interest, I greatly value the breadth and continuity of general practice and am always pleased to see patients with concerns of all kinds. For me, good medicine begins with listening: taking the time to understand each person, the circumstances of their life and their health in its wider context.
I am delighted to practise at Mayfield Clinic, where the unhurried nature of consultations affords me the time to listen properly, consider matters carefully and discuss the options together before agreeing a thoughtful and appropriate plan of care.
Above all, I should like every patient to leave feeling that they have been genuinely listened to, that their concerns have been taken seriously, and that they have a clear and reassuring understanding of what comes next.
Wokingham is my primary face-to-face consultation location. Remote consultations are available for patients in Oxford, with face-to-face Oxford appointments offered at selected times.
